The Blue Bunny Bookstore in Dedham Square hosted  an event with Lucy, patient the R.E.A.D. dog, check on Tuesday, clinic August 18th at 11 a.m. Lucy is a black lab with a big heart, and she and her owner Pat Howes, are a registered R.E.A.D. team (Reading Education Assistance Dogs). They visited The Blue Bunny with a special program to encourage reading, curiosity and confidence in kids.  Joy  Olaes Surprenant, shared  information about her kids’ charity, “Catching Joy” and their work with the MSPCA- Angell and supervised a free  dogs puppet craft activity. Even the youngest children enjoyed coloring big paper bones.  

 

Everyone is invited to join the Catching Joy walking team for the the Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA) Angell- Walk for Animals to be held Sunday, September 13, 2009  at 12PM at Boston Common.  Register online at www.mspca.org and join team “Catching Joy.”  Or, RSVP to connect with Joy.
