On Sat., Nov. 7, 9AM- 1PM, The Newton Community is hosting a Cradles to Crayons Family “Time to Give” event. Volunteers will sort through donations at St. Mary’s Church, 258 Concord St. (off Rt. 16), Newton Lower Falls and we’d love for you to come with your family (preferably children school- age and older) between for as long as your schedule permits. Volunteers will clean books, inspect and sort clothing, clean toys, etc. This works so well because of a simple truth: kids know what other kids like (or don’t like). They know what clothes are cool, what toys need extra parts, and what books are worth reading. By lending a hand and their expertise, they learn firsthand about the importance of generosity and helping other kids. We call it “tangible philanthropy,” which simply means that the young people who work with Cradles to Crayons can actually see the results of their efforts. For many, it is an unforgettable lesson in leadership, social justice, service, and the power of giving.

When you reply, if you are able to join us, please include when you are planning to arrive, for how long you think you can help, and whether or not you will have family with you. RSVP
