Thank you to all who joined the fun and excitement at the Catching Joy Fundraiser, A Holiday Brunch at Fenway Park, on Sunday, December 6, 2009, 11AM-2PM. Fenway Park was truly magical after a snowfall and the thrill of seeing Catching Joy logo on the billboard was incredible! Joy, founder of Catching Joy, spoke to the audience about the joy the have had programming for the last year and the goals they have to do more events in 2010. Playing on the monitors, was a great video about Catching Joy made by Boston Chronicle that can be found on YouTube. There was great energy and enthusiasm with the World Series Trophies and Wally the Green Monster in the room. The greatest part was the joy that young children and their families felt donating 60+ baseballs to the Home For Little Wanderers with the kids decorating the gift bags with baseball stickers and making home made cards. The kids were able to put the whole package together and felt very proud of their good work
Thanks to all who sponsored and donated items for the silent auction and thanks to all who bid on the fabulous prizes including Red Sox games and autograph items from the Red Sox, hotel packages, restaurant and theater gift certificates, and various unique experiences offered by various children’s programs. Thanks also to Seventh Generation for supporting Catching Joy and hosting a table where they gave out samples of their enviro-friendly products.
A very special thank you to the volunteers from the Boston College High School and the Junior League Of Boston, Done In A Day Group.
